Saturday onlineStudents will learn the construction and processing techniques, component analysis and related technical terminology of different models of bags. This will develop through specific exercises the ability to create their own paper pattern and to design their own interpretation of a classic leather goods through the study of volumes of matter and functions.

To gain an informed view of one of the most relevant sectors of the global fashion market, to have the opportunity to interact with a teacher who has a long history of success in the sector, whose alumni have won some of the most prestigious international awards and to be able to report live by receiving feedback on their work and answers to their questions. Because this online mode aims to make the most of the learning distance opportunity while preserving the relationship with the teacher who will guide the technical and creative process.
The course aims to introduce students from courses in the areas of fashion, art, design to bag design, but is also open to those who wish to enter this sector for the first time.
Luigi Mulas Debois
Consultant in the style and product area since 1995. Since 2000 he has dedicated himself to teaching and since 2009 in the Academy he coordinates the accessories area of the three-year Costume & Fashion course and is director of the Master in Accessories Design.
The course is structured in explanatory videos structured by the teacher that will be delivered simultaneously in the presence of the teacher himself, who will intervene to provide further explanations and to interface with the students, and is divided into modules of 6 hours every Saturday for 5 weeks for a total of 30 hours online.
The topics covered are:
• product sector
• pattern cutting for basic bag construction
• style and design of the product
The course is structured looking at various types of products and will explore the creation of the paper pattern, the cutting and make of the analyzed products. The course ends with the student’s design, from research of the iconic bag structures, included in the course, to define their own personal interpretation of one of the models.
