ADMISSION – UNDERGRADUATE

Admission to Academia Costume e Moda is based on passing an entrance examination, which includes a motivational interview with the submission of a portfolio of works and a motivational statement which will help us to to get to know your individual educational needs and interests as well as a point of discussion during the interview.

The Accademia wants to understand the motivation and level of determination of the candidate. Artistic and graphic competences are not a requirement. Our objective is to find students that understand the importance culture as a platform for continuous inspiration, contaminated with design, research and craftsmanship.

To be interviewed for admission (to be held in person or via Skype), the candidate must:

 

  • Request the admission Enrolment form to the Counseling Office (info@accademiacostumeemoda.it)
  • Choose a date among the ones available on the form and on our website www.accademiacostumeemoda.it/en/ admissions
  • Send back the filled-in form together with the payment receipt of the amount of € 100,00
  • Prepare an Entry Portfolio and a motivational statement according to the Accademia requirements

 

The deadlineto submit the documentation varies according to the annual guidelines provided by the Italian Ministry of Education and must be checked directly by the student with the local Italian Embassy/Consulate. For a list of the Italian Embassies or Consulates please click here.

Moreover, due to the high amount of requests and to a limited number of Enrolments available we strongly encourage international students to apply no later than June.

COSTUME & FASHION

ENTRY PORTFOLIO

Required

  • Collect some related images and create a collage in the style of a mood board, this could be inspired by a book, film, exhibition or a museum visit
  • Write a few words to describe the mood and influences
  • Create some initial design ideas (choose any medium you like) – minimum 3 figure drawings of the outfits connected to the mood, costume or fashion
  • Five examples of freehand drawings from still life (if possible)
  • An index of work submitted with appropriate information
  • Letter of motivation

In addition

  • If you have examples of illustrations, in any media, including computer design
  • Photographs, taken by you to express subjects and ideas that you are interested in could be also inserted

Any 3 dimensional objects created by you wish to include should be photographed.

FASHION EDITOR STYLING & COMMUNICATION

ENTRY PORTFOLIO

Required

  • Collect some related images and create a collage in the style of a mood board, this could be inspired by a fashion related subject or not
  • Write 500 hundred words to describe the mood and influences
  • Create some photographs inspired by your fashion mood, minimum of 3 – these could even be created using a smart phone or tablet
  • Choose a new emergent designer that you find particularly interesting, hopefully one we have never heard of, and critically analyse their work in an article, images are to be included.
  • An index of work submitted with appropriate information
  • Letter of motivation

In addition

  • Images and articles regarding the fashion subject that you wish to discuss

Evidence of work experience or event participation

CINEMA AND FILMMAKING: MEDIA DESIGN AND MULTIMEDIA ARTS

A composition on cinema according to the outline given by the coordinator of the course and admission interview.
