The Design and Prototyping for Bags and Shoes course aims at educating and inspiring professionals providing them with technical and stylistic knowledge and skills from the production of 3D paper models to complete collections and prototypes of shoes and bags.
This course is aimed at professionals, fashion designers and/or students within the fashion environment who are interested in developing and/or enhancing their competences within the fields of shoes and bags.
Enrollment to this course is limited, and admission is determined after an interview.
90 hours of lessons and lab work
Lessons will focus on providing knowledge on the following aspects:
- Production of basic models for men’s and women’s shoes and bags.
- Model structure and volume analysis.
- Leather cutting.
- Industrial production systems; components and manufacturing skills.
- Modelling procedures and final production of a prototype.
At the end of the educational program, those students who have attended at least 80% of lessons will receive a certificate of attendance. The students may also, on request, obtain a transcript listing modules attended and an evaluation of their project work.
