15 designers of the ‘Accademia Costume & Moda’ presented their collections on the catwalk of Alta Roma, on January 30th at 12:30 pm in Room 3 of the “Ex-Dogana”, in Via dello Scalo San Lorenzo 10, coordinated by Faculty Santo Costanzo with the support of Luigi Mulas Debois for accessories.
The Talents 2016, Flavia Colantoni, Andrea Di Salvo, Ilaria Fiore, Livia Francese, Sharon Journo Barda, Maria Martyashkina, Federica Melpignano, Svetlana Nadezhdina, Deniza Nugnes, Eleonora Olivieri, Heida Oskardottir, Federica Rabito, Francesca Richiardi, Martina Scattarella, Saima Shakoor, were selected last July by a technical commission and have created womanswear, manswear and accessories collections.
A prestigious Jury evaluated the 15 collections, 6 outfits for collection for a total of 90 exits: Silvia Venturini Fendi (President of Altaroma), Carlo Capasa (President of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), Giampiero Arcese (Design Coordinator Armani Collezioni Donna), Livia Carimini (Assistant Valentino Haute Couture),James Ferragamo (Shoes and Leather goods Director Salvatore Ferragamo SpA), Deanna Ferretti (Modateca Deanna), Simonetta Gianfelici (Fashion Consultant & Talent Scout), Laura Lusuardi(Fashion Coordinator Max Mara), Raffaello Napoleone (CEO Pitti Immagine), Jane Rapley (Professor Emeritus, Former Head of College Central Saint Martins), Leonardo Pucci (Directeur Collection Leather goods Christian Dior Couture), Fausto Puglisi (Creative Director “Fausto Puglisi” and Emanuel Ungaro Maison), Marjan Pejoski (KTZ ,Founder and Creative Director).
Furthermore, on the occasion of the second edition of the Lagente Green project, Davide Dallomo (Founder of Lagente) awarded a prize to Federica Melpignano, consisting in a 1 year pro-bono mentoring.
In the words of Santo Costanzo and Luigi Mulas Debois, “the 15 collections are a result of both hand-made and technological experimentation. The collaboration with important companies of the Textile Industy allowed the 2016 Talents to be stimulated in creating unique pieces, timeless collections, characterized by the personality of each one of them in keeping with the spirit of the Accademia Costume & Moda. Thanks to the advice of Marco Mastroianni, former student and current Responsable Matières Louis Vuitton, the 2016 Talents were supported in the selection of materials and production of fabric elaborations, using new technology and handmade crafts.
