The aim of this Master’s Degree is to educate and train professional jewel designers providing them with knowledge on style development and methodology in the various areas of Jewel Design. This course will focus on haute couture and industrial jewellery, accessories and wristwatch design through the following procedures: innovative paths on planning and design ratios; understanding of descriptive languages; identification of targets; entrepreneurship tutoring; use of heterogeneous and alternative materials and techniques. The students, by combining theoretical and practical preparation carried out in internal and external laboratories, will reinterpret traditional materials and techniques.
The First Level Master’s Degree Program in Jewellery, offers 60 ECTS Credits and is internationally valid, since recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.

The Master’s degree approaches all of the tecniques and different working methods of Jewelry and Bijou Craftsmanship. This is achieved through the analysis of the creative process from the product design, to the material research, technology and market analysis. Students will be able to design with free hand and with rhinoceros and able to develop complete jewelry and bijou collections.
Due to demand and a closed number of places available (to maintain the quality at this high level of study) to gain access to the course it is required the successful completion of an admission assessment, interview and presentation of a Portfolio. At the end of the Master’s course, the graduated students will receive the I Level Academic Master’s Diploma given by the Accademia Costume & Moda and recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education.
This Master’s Degree is aimed at those who have successfully completed a recognised first degree (typically BA equivalent to Level 6 of EQF-European Qualifications Framework), in a subject area relevant to this course, and wish to study with the aim to seriously focus on a career in the jewel and bijou design:
- Students who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in a design discipline or a subject area linked to the Master’s Course: YES
- Humanistic and Liberal Arts Degree students who have successfully completed an undergraduate course not linked to the specialist area of the Master’s: YES, but the Course Council will evaluate the single application to understand the suitability and level of preparation of the candidate
- Industry professionals of the sector and students who have not completed a recognised undergraduate degree, but have completed private courses within the subject area of the Master’s course: YES, but will not receive a recognised Master’s Degree (they’ll just receive a certificate of participation).
The course duration is one academic year (twelve months, curricular internship included) and attendance is mandatory. However to be accepted at the final assessments students must have at least 80% proven attendance.
