This full time Master’s course in Maglieria, Creative Knitwear Design is for graduates who want to complete their studies, at a higher level, in this area of fashion design. This course enables the student to specialise and develop skills to a professional level in this unique sector of the fashion industry, from research, technical experimentation and innovative design through to project implementation. Italy is a renowned centre of excellence in yarn production, knitwear design and manufacture. This course is fully recognition by the Italian Ministry as a Master’s of the first level with 60 credits (ECTS).
Students at the end of the training, will be able to pursue a professional career as part of a team in a creative fashion studio, filling various professional roles that exist in this sector of the fashion knitwear industry, from knit / jersey designers to product managers, yarn researchers, as well as the designer of their own collections in the specialized area of Magleria / Knitwear.
This Master is aimed at those who have successfully completed a recognised first degree, in a subject area relevant to this course, and wish to study with the aim to seriously focus on a career towards the knitwear industy.
- Students who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in Artistic / Design or a subject area linked to the Master’s Course: YES
- Humanistic and Liberal Art degree students who have successfully completed an undergraduate course not linked to the specialist area of the Master’s: YES, if accepted by the Course Committee
- Industry Professionals of the sector and students who have not completed a recognised undergraduate degree but private courses within the subject area of the of the Master’s course: YES, if accepted by the Course Committee and will only be eligible to receive a certificate of participation.
The course duration is one academic years and attendance is mandatory however to be accepted at the final assessments students must have at least 80% proven attendance.
Theoretical lessons, seminars, with experts in the field, practical workshops, guided tutorial support one to one and self-directed study make the course vibrant and relevant to the subject, visits to industry trade fairs, knitwear factories of industry leaders, manufacturers, museums, galleries and exhibition tours.
The Master enrolment closes on the 30th of September 2015.

At the end of the Master the students will receive the I Level Academic Master Diploma given by the Accademia Costume & Moda and recoginzed by the Italian Ministry of Education.
